From Garage to Museum
The Art of Perfumery in Yerevan

Perfumer Gevorg Simonyan makes his unique scents in a tiny nook hidden beneath the city's buildings in Yerevan's Arabkir neighborhood. Simonyan creates perfumes that are renowned for their unique character by skillfully blending different scents every day. Now, what started out as a small garage has grown into something much more, becoming a distinctive cultural landmark. His transformation from a modest studio to a renowned museum demonstrates not only his proficiency in perfumery but also his love for the art form, transforming it into a fusion of originality and tradition.
"It all started when I bought ten perfumes and sold them," says Gevorg Simonyan, reflecting on the beginning of his journey into the world of perfumery. "From there, I became fascinated with the stories behind each fragrance and the secrets of their creation. Over time, I began making my own essential oils while also importing others from abroad," he explains, highlighting the growth of his craft and expertise.
"Nothing happens to me by chance," says Gevorg Simonyan. "Even the coronavirus played a significant role in my life. During that time, I established my perfume laboratory, where everyone can create their own unique fragrance. Visitors design perfumes based on their personality, mood, and preferences."
"I realized that people prefer perfumes with a name, so I started creating them," says Gevorg Simonyan.
"These are mostly bought by brides or couples."
He adds, "It is a great honor for me that the President of Cyprus, his wife, and other representatives of the country use my signature perfumes."

Simonyan has set up a film laboratory, also known as a film museum, which contains a collection of cameras from antiquity to the present. He also has a scent laboratory. Gevorg takes great pleasure in providing his visitors with a unique look into the history of photography by demonstrating how pictures were created in the past.
Gevorg Simonyan has established a club named "Kirk Kirkorian" in a garage across from the Cinema Museum, where members congregate to share trade secrets and promote patriotism.

"I have a tremendous appreciation for old things," says Gevorg. That's why I made this cellar, which is stocked with vintage grinders, wines that are 20 years old, and other artifacts from the past. I got these things from a variety of sources.
